When I started digging through my archives of R-MC softball photos, I knew I had found what I was looking for when I came across this image. Carrie was on first when Brooke Snyder drilled a grounder to thirdbase. When the 3B threw to first, Carrie never broke stride and headed for third. The throw to first was too late to catch Brooke and the firstbaseman whipped the ball back to third to try to catch Carrie. She dove out of the way and made it safely to the bag. To me, this image captures the possibility of what happens when a whatever-it-takes attitude is given an opportunity.
